Rodney | Senior 2010

I was so happy to discover that Rodney is my neighbor AND that I would be able to take his senior pictures for him:)

Rodney is senior this year at the Columbus Africentric school.  He loves to play the keyboard (which he brought as a prop...so awesome!) and is planning on majoring in vocal performance at the University of Toledo.  He brought his dad, Arnie, along with him Friday afternoon and I had a great time talking to Arnie about my neighborhood (WoodlandParkNeighbors.org!) and what Columbus was like when he was growing up.

This was such a fun and relaxed shoot for me.  Rodney is SUPER easy to photograph...he posed himself which is always fantastic and makes me job way easier:)  We did a few shots in Franklin Park and then finished the evening downtown by COSI.  I loved that Rodney wanted the skyline in the background of his pictures representing his city.

Thanks Rodney & Arnie for spending the afternoon with me.  I look forward to seeing you around the neighborhood and getting to know you better!

Happy Easter!

I know this is a day late, but I hope everyone had a very happy Easter!.  The weather was beautiful yesterday in Ohio and we took advantage of it with some family pictures.  Thanks to my dad for taking this:)

Theo enjoyed his first visit from the Easter Bunny very much:)

Sydney | Senior 2010

Sydney is gorgeous.  And she knows it....but not in a bad way.  She exudes confidence, which is a rare find for most teenagers and something special to be had.  Her mom rolled her eyes and laughed every time Sydney squealed "I'm cute!"  after some sneak peeks from the LCD screen.  I thought this was hilarious and I loved that she loved my pictures.  I do this for those types of reactions.

We did the shoot at the always amazing Franklin Park.  Sydney originally wanted to do the photos outside near the Spaghetti Warehouse...but unfortunately it was cold and rainy this past Thursday so we opted for the warmth and shelter of the conservatory.

See, I told you she was gorgeous!

Here I was asking her about her boyfriend...I got the cutest smile out of her:)

She wants to be a Buckeye!!!

And this one is just for fun, to show you how awesome this shoot was!

Thanks to Sydney & mom Wanda for spending the afternoon with me.

Ganache Dessert Kitchen

If you haven't heard of Groupon.com you should definitely check them out.  Everyday they deliver a new coupon to your inbox for a discounted price on local services.  It's amazing, I've gotten several groupons already and have enjoyed trying new things around Columbus for not a lot of money:)  Who doesn't love that?

This is how I discovered Ganache Dessert Kitchen.  Their groupon popped up in my inbox one morning and I thought $5 for $12 worth of desserts?  Yes, please.  Last night Brad & I decided would be the perfect time to redeem our coupon and headed over the Gahanna.

The desserts were AMAZING!  We tried a peanut butter cupcake, chocolate ganache cupcake, chocolate truffle cheesecake, raspberry truffle AND two cookies.  And we only had to pay $.50!!!

How did it taste?  Well the truffle didn't make it out of the parking lot and the cupcake and cheesecake didn't make it past dinner.  And one of those cookies may have disappeared before bedtime.  Before you are hatin' on our sugar consumption just remember it was a holiday and I'm sure St. Patrick didn't mind that we had a cookie with our Killians last night:)

If you are still looking for a wedding cake vendor be sure to check out Ganache Dessert Kitchen at http://ganachedessertkitchen.com/.  They had beautiful cakes sitting in their front window (including one that looked like it had sushi sitting on top!) and I'm sure they are just as delicious as the items we sampled:)
