Brad makes me green with envy with his awesome snowflake making skills. Do you see that? A snowman AND a Christmas tree, all in the same snowflake!!!

Sean & Sara | 11.27.10
You may remember Sean & Sara from their beautiful engagement session early last spring. It was no surprise to me that they had a wonderfully beautiful wedding. It was a chilly, sunny afternoon when I met Sara at her church, St. Peter's in Columbus. I've seen relaxed brides before but I think Sara takes the cake. Her bridesmaids and her even had some time to engage in a few rounds of hangman before the ceremony! She was peaceful and relaxed and ready to be married!
After the ceremony we went to Coffman Park in Dublin for the portraits. Sean & Sara were determined to get outdoor portraits despite the 30 some degree temperatures. The sunset was so amazing that day.
Seriously, Sean & Sara were a breeze to work with. They are a gorgeous couple and natural in front of the camera. It was such a pleasure to capture their wedding.
Thank you so much guys! I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
A rousing game of hangman! |
I love, love, love when I can catch a look like this between a bride and her father. There is so much emotion wrapped up in it! |
Caught in the midst of a bubble attack! |
They should be models or something, right?? |
I love the bottom photo. Sara doesn't seem like the type of person to get choked up a lot but her Maid of Honor's speech did the trick. |
The mother-son dance has so much meaning to me now that I'm a mother to a little boy. This photo pretty much sums up how I think I will feel on Theo's wedding day. |

We went to the Candlelight nights at the Conservatory and then walked back to the community garden campus to see Santa and his reindeer. It was so refreshing to take a brisk evening walk, I'm already starting to get a little cabin fever with all of this cold weather!

I don't have a picture for today so I'll substitute this delicious ice cream sundae photo that was taken a few days ago.

We bundled up and ventured out into German Village for their village lights. Over 9,000 luminaries lit the brick streets and most of the business and restaurants were open late. I was in a grumpy mood (we forgot Theo's carrier so we had to use the stroller which is never easy on German Village's bumpy sidewalks let alone when there are a gazillion people around) so I didn't take a lot of photos. This is from inside St. Mary's church where we ran inside to get warm and found a bell choir playing Christmas tunes.

We went to St. Mary's in German Village to pick out our tree this year. I really wanted to go to a cut your own place but we didn't feel like traveling 40 minutes outside of town to get there. We've gone to St. Mary's a couple of times before to get our tree and have always gotten the most beautiful ones.

Brad and I got to go on a lovely date to Haiku and then spent a little time at our friends house hanging out.

Really horrible cell phone photo taken of our wedding rings before going to bed. They were sitting on my grandmother's peeling dresser that I've been saying I'm going to refinish for years.

Brad took the plunge and cut off his ridiculously long locks (which will most definitely be donated to Locks of Love).

Quickly snapped at Coffman Park while shooting Sean and Sara's wedding portraits. It was freezing but there was a magnificent sunset!

I've been excited for Christmas for quite some time already this year. I'm determined to enjoy it more than last year. Last year was OK, but we had a 2 month old which equaled exhaustion, a house that just looked gross (seriously the difference a year of hard work has made is AMAZING!) and a furnace went out on Christmas Eve. Yes, that was the icing on the cake. We spent a long holiday weekend freezing huddled around space heaters waiting for Monday when we could buy the part. I guess it was a memorable Christmas but this year I'm looking forward to a more enjoyable experience this year!

Thanksgiving was great. Stressful, but great. We hosted 23 people this year which makes for a chaotic mess but a beautiful, loving and thankful mess:)

Ok, ok I know this isn't a picture of epic proportions for my 100th. But hey it was the night before Thanksgiving and I was busy peeling 10+ pounds of potatoes.

We're hosting Thanksgiving this year which is amazing considering last year at this time we were living in three rooms of our house. I'm a little nervous because we have 22(!!!) people coming over. Hence the two turkeys, one ham, 4 pounds of butter & two beers (for the preparations!) in our fridge right now.

C Family | Portraits
I had such an awesome shoot at Franklin Park Conservatory with Teri, Wes & their 2 year old son Jay (who is absolutely adorable and loves Thomas the Tank Engine).
I can't get over how well Jay did throughout the shoot. He smiled when we asked (ok, sometimes he needed some Thomas encouragement:)) and just stood there with his mom and dad while I took countless photos. I think he needs to go into modeling!
Teri & Wes, I had such a great time with you guys, thank you so much! Enjoy the holidays and your wonderful family!

P Family | Portrait
This was a very special shoot to me because I got to take photos of my wonderful nieces and nephews!!!
Being an only child I always knew I wouldn't get to have any nieces and nephews of my own but luckily I inherited 9 of them when I married Brad! It has been so much fun seeing them grow up these past 6+ years.
My sister-in-law Jennifer wanted me to take photos this year instead of buying the insanely expensive school portraits. On a freezing cold evening at my in-laws farm the four kids braved the cold and smiled their hearts out without complaint (apparently Jennifer sternly warned them to cooperate in the car on the way over:)).

I didn't want to run back downstairs last night when I realized I hadn't take a picture yet. So all you get is my messy bedroom cell phone pic.

My 93 year old grandfather just stopped farming this past year. My dad, Theo & I went for a walk out on the farm, just outside of Zanesville, to enjoy the fleeting beauty of fall.

Our friend Noah made a disastrous batch of ginger ale which resulted in a giant mess in our kitchen:) He had to diffuse the rest of the bottles outside.
