Erik & Sina | 6.19.10

I woke up relieved that Sina & Eric's wedding was being held indoors.  The heat and humidity was ridiculous two Saturdays ago.

The Athenaeum is an amazing gem in the middle of downtown Columbus.  I checked out their website for photos of the rooms that Sina & Erik has reserved beforehand and could not believe the diversity of the building.  The Priory was perfect for the ceremony and the reception was held in the Small Theater right across the hall.

Sina was relaxed and happy when she arrived.  Her bridesmaids were helpful and kept her calm through the process of dressing and waiting.  The waiting is hard.

We walked next door to a new apartment building for some portraits after the ceremony.  It's not easy coordinating 14 people in one photo while standing in the middle of the street, but I think we made it work:)

They had a well coordinated first dance!

And Erik was hilarious when it came to the garter removal. 

They ended it all with a kickin' party.

The Shannons | Engagement

Yes, both of their names are Shannon.  And they are getting married.  What are the odds?

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had with Shannon & Shannon on their engagement shoot last week. I was so excited when they picked Easton for the photo location.  I have wandered around there so many times imagining the amazing shots I could get a different spots.  

They are a wonderful couple and I am lucky to get to capture a little bit of their life together.  I get a feeling their wedding is going to be a blast and I cannot wait for it.

First off we got a few pictures with lady Shannon's son, Dylan, in them.  What a cute little fam.

Then we wandered into Nordstrom where we had a little fun with escalators.  I think the photo on the left is my fave from the entire evening.  

They played in Anthropologie...

and hung out at a cafe table.

Then we rode another escalator to their "spot".

Shannon and Shannon live close to Easton and frequent Bar Louie to unwind and relax.  

The end to a wonderful night...

Dennis & Kristen | 6.12.10

I watched the weather all week and all morning of Dennis & Kristen's wedding.  Scattered thuderstorms are not a good forecast for any wedding day, let alone one with an outdoor ceremony planned.

Mother nature shined down upon us that day and literally 5 minutes before the ceremony started the sun broke through the rain and brought the most beautiful blue sky and fluffy white clouds with it.

You may remember Kristen & Dennis from their engagement session last fall.   Kristen is one of the most organized brides I have ever met.  She was always emailing me new info or asking me questions.  Her wedding day went off without a hitch due to her careful planning.  I love, love, love a bride who is on top of things:)

This wedding was so beautiful and Heritage Golf Club in Hilliard was the perfect venue for them.

Evan & Family

I met Jenny through Kristen (blogging about her wedding next!!!) and was lucky enough to be able to sit with and meet her and her husband at the wedding a couple of days before we got together at Homestead Park in Hilliard for family photos.

Jenny & Nick's son Evan is a spunky, bright & energetic two year old (his birthday was this past Saturday!).  He kept us moving the entire shoot which was on possibly one of the hottest days yet this summer:)

I cannot say enough good things about Homestead Park - you should definitely check it out if you are in the Hilliard area.

This was as successful as we could be in getting a family shot - little boys do not like to be still:)

And finally after all of that "posing" Evan got to run around the playground.  I can only imagine how much fun this tunnel is for a two year old.

Sina & Erik | wedding sneak peek

Sina & Erik had a beautiful wedding this past Saturday.

This is one of the photos that jumped out at me as I looked through them.   After our portrait session they exchanged cards and walked down 4th reading them.  I felt so lucky to be able to capture this moment.

Coleen & Jeff | Engagement

We had to reschedule Coleen & Jeff's engagement session 3 (!) times because of the rain.  Yes, you heard me correct.  Three times that we planned on photos and those three days it rained.  Thank you, Ohio weather.

Oh but in the end the wait was worth it.  On the most beautiful summer night last week I met the couple at Inniswood Metro Park in Westerville.  Oh my goodness, if you haven't been here it is definitely worth your drive.   The gardens beat Franklin Park's hands down.

I had a blast with Coleen and Jeff.  They are fun-loving and carefree.  They photographed easily and had great ideas of their own.  I CANNOT wait for their August 7th wedding!

Did I mention Inniswood is where they got engaged?  On this bench?  So, so cute.

They were up for trudging through the woods...

We then headed to uptown Westerville for a few urban shots.  My favorite part of this next photo is their audience:)

We ended our night in the coolest alley.
