I've been excited for Christmas for quite some time already this year.  I'm determined to enjoy it more than last year.  Last year was OK, but we had a 2 month old which equaled exhaustion, a house that just looked gross (seriously the difference a year of hard work has made is AMAZING!) and a furnace went out on Christmas Eve.  Yes, that was the icing on the cake.  We spent a long holiday weekend freezing huddled around space heaters waiting for Monday when we could buy the part.  I guess it was a memorable Christmas but this year I'm looking forward to a more enjoyable experience this year!

Thanksgiving was great.  Stressful, but great.  We hosted 23 people this year which makes for a chaotic mess but a beautiful, loving and thankful mess:)

Ok, ok I know this isn't a picture of epic proportions for my 100th.  But hey it was the night before Thanksgiving and I was busy peeling 10+ pounds of potatoes.

We're hosting Thanksgiving this year which is amazing considering last year at this time we were living in three rooms of our house.  I'm a little nervous because we have 22(!!!) people coming over.  Hence the two turkeys, one ham, 4 pounds of butter & two beers (for the preparations!) in our fridge right now.

C Family | Portraits

I had such an awesome shoot at Franklin Park Conservatory with Teri, Wes & their 2 year old son Jay (who is absolutely adorable and loves Thomas the Tank Engine).

I can't get over how well Jay did throughout the shoot.  He smiled when we asked (ok, sometimes he needed some Thomas encouragement:)) and just stood there with his mom and dad while I took countless photos.  I think he needs to go into modeling!

Teri & Wes, I had such a great time with you guys, thank you so much!  Enjoy the holidays and your wonderful family!

P Family | Portrait

This was a very special shoot to me because I got to take photos of my wonderful nieces and nephews!!!

Being an only child I always knew I wouldn't get to have any nieces and nephews of my own but luckily I inherited 9 of them when I married Brad!  It has been so much fun seeing them grow up these past 6+ years.

My sister-in-law Jennifer wanted me to take photos this year instead of buying the insanely expensive school portraits.  On a freezing cold evening at my in-laws farm the four kids braved the cold and smiled their hearts out without complaint (apparently Jennifer sternly warned them to cooperate in the car on the way over:)).

Faith, Jason, Evelyn & Jeremy.

Their Dad & Mom, Brian & Jennifer.

Thank you so much guys, being your aunt AND photographer is such a great privilege:)

My 93 year old grandfather just stopped farming this past year.  My dad, Theo & I went for a walk out on the farm, just outside of Zanesville, to enjoy the fleeting beauty of fall.

Our friend Noah made a disastrous batch of ginger ale which resulted in a giant mess in our kitchen:)  He had to diffuse the rest of the bottles outside.

Erin | Le Pooch Dog Walking

I met Erin when my husband Brad started designing a website for her services, Le Pooch Dog Walking.  Through that she has now started walking out dog, Harvey, once a week (he's kind of crazy!) and she wanted me to take some photos of her with her own dogs to put on her site.

She does an amazing job with Harvey, he is always exhausted after he gets home.  It's really nice to know he is getting the proper amount of exercise because between Brad and I's businesses, raising a baby toddler, rehabbing a house & not having a fenced in backyard Harvey doesn't always get the attention he needs.

Please check out Erin's website for more information on all the services she provides.  I promise, you will not be disappointed!

I feel like I've been saying this a lot lately but I didn't take a picture today.  Here's another one from Thursday's Blendon Woods walk.  I know all of these misses probably means I've failed the 365 project but I'm going to keep going.  I'm really enjoying it and I feel like I haven't been this creative in years.

I've been taking a yoga class at the conservatory and it's held in the Palm house at night which means I get to watch the James Turrell light show the entire time!  It's so relaxing!

Reagan & Family | Family Portraits

It amazes me that I've been a photographer long enough that I get to see children grow up.  I first met Reagan and her parents, Larry & Jen, last year for Reagan's first birthday shoot.  We did another shoot in the spring to commemorate her 18th month of life and just this past week we finished up her two year shoot.  It's so much fun seeing how she has grown each time!

Reagan is full of energy and independent.  I can tell she keeps her parents moving!  Larry & Jen are actually expecting another baby next March and I'm sure Reagan will be a great big sister!

We met at our usual location, Goodale Park but it was a little chillier than we had anticipated.   Poor Reagan (and everyone else!) was freezing so we decided to cut the session in half and finish it out in Franklin Park Conservatory.

Thank you so much Larry, Jen & Reagan.  Can't wait to meet your newest bundle of joy!!!!
